Departure Monitor

Privacy Notice

Departure Monitor is a private household Alexa application. It is being developed to accept trip arrival times and provide traffic-aware reminders about when to leave.

Current status: The existing Alexa skill can collect a destination name and arrival time in a conversation and says that no trip has been scheduled. A separate Voice Monkey announcement trigger has had a limited household test. Account linking, trip storage, traffic calculations, departure estimates, and automatic reminders are planned and have not yet been put into service.

Information used

Planned Login with Amazon account linking requests only the account identifier needed to check whether an Amazon account is approved for this household. We do not need your Amazon name, email address, or postal code for that check.

When trip scheduling is built, Departure Monitor will use saved destination names, requested arrival dates and times, trip status, and eventually calculated departure estimates. A saved destination may also need an address to calculate a route. We aim to collect only what is needed for these household functions.

Services involved

Those services may process or retain information under their own policies. Departure Monitor does not control their records.

Retention and deletion

Trip storage is not yet active. Retention periods and deletion controls for future stored trips and destinations are still being established during development. These controls will be decided before real household trip data is stored, and this notice will be updated to describe them.

Access and changes

The application is intended only for approved household accounts. This notice is public so Amazon and household members can read it during account linking. Publishing this notice does not make trip information public. We will update this page if the application's data use or controls change.
